PK

Finally watched PK. Because of so many controversies around it – I decided to go with a very unbiased and open mind.

The movie character PK uses pitfalls of  aspects of Hinduism that ‘sells’ as a commercial object and tries to show people what many of us already know. By putting the stickers of Gods on his cheek he is able to save himself from getting smashed. Or by asking questions from a baba who has entrouge of followers he is able to at-least raise issues of blind faith in such arrangements.  This word arrangement or as PK calls it  wrong line is indeed a business or an arrangement  where the babas claim to produce gold chains or claim to make people healthy by having a direct link with God.

In PK examples have been used from Christianity and from Islam too to show that the arrangement in all religions is simply a business transaction that exploits the fear! The fear of unknown and the insecurity, the focus on material wealth and the need to horde….

If I was to ignore just one fact that he has used more examples from the shams done in Hinduism as a religion and think over it critically this is what I have to say- that God cannot be negated even if not seen (point1) and that scriptures talks of futility of all aspects ( point2) and that it is fear that makes us what we have become.

1) As a physicist- one must only believe is one sees. However how old is our science? Approximately 3oo years old? That would mean that if we do not have technology then  anything that is not observed as yet is to be assumed as non - existing? Assuming that we have never in person seen a material God ever, never seen Jesus, never seen Allah or have never ever felt that Void that Buddha has stated that would mean that according to Science -  such ideas are merely ideas- not even worth contemplating. However a true scientist will always keep an open mind. Many laws of Physics have been based on an initial imagination and then have been found to be true- in theoretical physics.. That would mean that an open mind to SUBJECTIVE ENERGY CANNOT BE DENIED AS WE HAVE NO EXPLANATION OF DEATH AND THE DISCREPANCY IN CONDITIONS OF PEOPLE  BORN UNDER VARIED CONDITIONS IF GOD DOES NTO PLAY DICE , AND CONCEPT OF MIIND AS SUCH (DENIED BY SCIENTISTS SO FAR) . This is to state that there is a Universal Energy that cannot be denied - many physicists have come to this conclusion. The thing is how to define it? 

2)  Because I am a converted vedantist – I am going to use my so far collected knowledge of Vedanta to say that the message in PK is exactly what Vedanta says- that  ( consider it to be my connect to how I have perceieved Vedanta to be) 

a) the pursuit of worldly gains with its three formulations of wealth, power, and fame still not beyond the vagaries of time and limitations. If we carefully look at the pursuits of pleasure, security, and values, we realize that they are all limited and time-bound in the ultimate bidding

 b) that  our perceived happiness from objects/people/places changes over time. What really happens is that the acquired object of our desire temporarily relieves the agitation (in our mind and heart) that we were feeling due to its lack. When we get the object of our desire, we feel happy for a while, until our satiety is assailed again by another desire that takes the place of the previously fulfilled desire.  

C) that One who rejoices only in the Self, who is satisfied with the Self, who is content in the Self alone,—for such a person, there is nothing left to do. Such a person has nothing to gain from work done or left undone and no dependence on any object to serve any purpose. (Gita3.17-19)  . This is real essence of God/ Energy. 

I am sure that many verses in Buddhism and Jainism and Bible and Quran and in other holy books say exact this ( I would truly appreciate if mentioned in comments)  and yet people who are illiterate and the ones who cannot read or write if fall prey is understood- yet when engineers, doctors, scientists, mathematicians follow such misguided – myths then what can be said? PK wants you to know that the truth in INNER, it is not in the outer shams. The ones who can read and write and think- can they not make a different in the lives of one who can’t’ Can they not help their helpers- the ayahs and the gardeners and tell them what real God means?  Just a thought!

The question is that why do we fall prey? To some of us who are learned we still get into random practices. It is simply because of the fact that we do not see the impermanence of our activities and we need to read scriptures and not hear from a pandit without introspecting. One MUST INTROSPECT. 

Also- FEAR- the word used in PK is worth thinking about- Why do we say God fearing? Why do we have to fear him? And why would he punish us? Why is it that we we visit a temple on Tuesday we would get something in return if we recite Hanuman Chalisa? If the verses do not come from heart then there will  be no effect . Then should one stop going to temples or mosques? Well it depends on why do you go?  Bhagwan se darro? Or A place of silence as I want or be in quiet and peace?

And what is happening in the controversy of PK? Well exactly that point that he has raised. People saw the negative of having used Hinduism more than others- Thik hai – I agree to an that extent Hirani or whosever  did that – but the greater message of the fact that the best connect is LOVE has been lost. However, the biases,  the needs to go to temple to get this or that will not go – the greed and the insecurity and the fear is too great. Too big is this monster of fear  to change them. Yes they will pick the part where they would say –“ arre mere Bhagwan ko kuch Kaha????”  “maro and pitto!” Protest!

And also my dear friends WE DO NOT NEED TO PROTECT GOD. THE UNIVERSAL LAWS WILL NEVER DIE. THE MYTHS MAY DIE. THE BABAS MAY DIE OR RUN AWAY BUT THE LAWS OF VEDAS( Inner Science) and PHYSICS( External Science) CANNOT DIE.

To end it … PK is not bad. Worth a watch minus some aspects which may hurt - however they are social truths.

There would be no controversy if we know the answer to this question

Kasminnubhagavovijnatesarvamidamvijnatambhavati?.... Revered sir, what is it, by knowing which everything becomes known? The final message of Vedanta, then, is this: ―Know who you are. Know that you are Pure Consciousness and Absolute

Awareness, and be free!‖ To know oneself as absolute awareness is to be established in Self-knowledge. And to know oneself thusly is to realize one’s true Self. 

Once you know yourself- WHERE IS THE NEED TO GO TO ANY TEMPLE OR ANY MOSQUE OR ANY CHURCH? WHERE IS THE NEED TO FAST AND WHERE IS THE NEED TO REVER TO ANYONE OTHER THAN SELF?  

Avoidance and Endurance to become a Winner

This post is triggered by a friend going through her inner traumas that made her recluse for a while to come out as a winner. I have merely generalized .

Traumas of childhood, gender or race discrimination, incidents in life, disease or dealing with children with severe disabilities or spouse or accidents make many people get into a habit of avoiding that which would make situation worse for them. People who do not have much control over the situations become recluse- and into tiny island of their own self as it helps them control the outer world’s input into their mind. Some would certainly shake their head in dismay as the word recluse has a negative impact.

When someone become a recluse and in that analyse their own self and their own process of thinking then that avoidance becomes very useful. In-fact the ones who are able to avoid negative impacts of the outer world and yet endure to evolve to become different are able to use the very trauma to their greatest advantage and their great evolution. The greatest aspect of such a mind is that such minds see everything as a choice that they made and in that come to realize the holistic duality of life, the  temporariness and the joy in being the best with the cards that one has.  They come out as winners. They in their ability it internalize change and come out as the ones who are then followed by others for help.

There are others who become inward but go negative blaming everyone and everything for their life. They become cynical and restless, and they look for reasons to blame. Everything falls into a category of another object the cause of their suffering. They become bitter, closed and non -friendly to most.

To forge meaning and to then use that to build an identity through life’s experiences in such a way that the identity makes you more evolved is the key. The measure of being evolved is not any outer measure- the measure of being evolved is the inner radiance that one feels – the surety in anything that one does, the decisiveness and the joy in everything, the lack of guilt and the ability to let go – a day , a moment, a year, the ability to let go trauma and even let go pleasures as momentary things. Many of us do not understand and do not like the ability to give up pleasure- one can never be forced to give up- it automatically happens and the bliss sets in of residing in oneself for the sheer joy of it. That bliss has no cause.

This state evades most people generally. That is the greatest meaning to a life that has suffered and evolved. The bliss factor that one gets when one uses the state of mind in the right way. That means that they have found their own truth which usually matches with the same Laws of the Universe irrespective of any dogmas or religion   

Forge meaning. Build identity. Forge meaning. Build identity. And then invite the world to share your joy.

When Atheists say that there is no GOD

Question: How do you know that you exist? What is real? How do you define real?

Answer : well of course I exist!

Question:  how do you know that you exist?

Answer: It is intuitively obvious

Question: Intuition is no proof.  What concrete evidence do you have that you exist?

Answer: Hmm, well I think therefore I am

Question: That’s good. That’s very. But how do you know that anything else exists?

Answer: My sensory apparatus tells me other things exist

Question:  Right that is great. Now a million dollar question- How do you know that whatever your sensory apparatus reveals to you is correct?  If you are talking about what you can feel, and state and smell and see then your real is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain. What I a getting at is this- the only experience directly available to you is your sensory data. This sensory data is merely a stream of electrical impulses that gets fed into your computing system

Answer: (speculative statement): In other words all I really know about the outer world is related to my electrical connections

Question: exactly!

Answer: (speculative statement ) why that would mean that I really don’t know what the outside Universe is like with certainty

Let us speculate further

A golf ball sized consciousness, when you read a book you will have a golf ball size understanding, when you look out a golf ball size awareness, and when you wake up in morning a golf ball size wakefulness- but if you could expand that consciousness then you read the book with a greater understanding, you look out with more awareness and you wake up with more wakefulness. Its consciousness and there is an ocean of pure vibrant consciousness inside each one of us. And it s right at the source and base of mind , right at the source of thought and also at the source of all matter

Modern Physics says that 

1) Solidity is a mirage

2) If we amplify the frequency the structure of the matter will change

3) If you want to see fear in a quantum Physicist eyes – just mention the word- the measurement problem/ the measurement problem is this- an electron only appears in certain place if you measure it .The electron is in a possibility of a wave like area- until a conscious observer decides to look at it. So the act of measurement creates the entire universe. Without our observations then would we be just expanding super position of possibilities with nothing definite ever actually happening?

4) Anytime we attempt to look  the particles beyond certain level the very act of observation changes means and in addition the more you look at individual particles the more you realize that there is no such thing as one electron, an electron or any elementary particle exists only in relation to other things like other particles or Universe at large. This means that if we dive down deeply enough in to nature of matter everything we know about everyday world dissolves. There are no objects anymore. There are only relationships There is no locality anymore. There is no time anymore. The more you look deeper into matter – the less and less solid it looks.

5) Our brain receives millions of signals every second and we organize them into holograms which we projects outside ourselves and call that reality.

Two subatomic particles quantum-ally entangled even when moved may light years away will be affected by other. If we consider the universe before big-bang when all were entangled with each other that would mean that everything that was connected once – even when so far away is entangled( once matter if physically joined the energy stays connected even when apart) 

6) And then electrons exist in more than one place in different universes- and then so do we humans in more than one place and in more than one state of mind.

7) If you have wondered why nuclear power has million times more energy than chemical energy- it is because of the fact that chemical energy comes from manipulation of the atoms in a  molecule and nuclear energy comes from the manipulation of the nucleons in a nucleus – the super unified scale a thousand million million million times smaller is infinite in its energy

The Point:

We may try to understand but IT shall evade us. All science and all arguments back and forth are opinions. The way out? Only experiential? That too in subjective.

The way to experience is to be in a state of quiet for sometime in a day. Meditation.

Max Planck statement

As a man who has devoted his whole life to the most clear headed science, to the study of matter, I can tell you as a result of my research about atoms this much: There is no matter as such. All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter.

There are no errors in the Game

‘God does not play dice’- Einstein’s famous words when he got overwhelmed by the quantum mechanics. Does God really not play dice? Don’t we all sometimes wonder, read stories both real and imaginary in which riches go to rags and vice versa or the horrors that some people in this world go through during their daily living or treasures other people find when not even looking for those. Lucky or unlucky- are the categories that we have and we according to our human perception of looking at the things objectively categorise our friends, relatives, people that we read about in newspaper or hear of from other people. 

Hindus think that this world is a stage and we are all actors in it and it is all God’s ‘Lila’-play. Does then God play favoritism? Or is it all a broth of probabilities and random chaotic sampling that causes us to be born somewhere to someone who is somebody or nobody, with money or none and by the mere genetic play of genes that we inherit, we become the personalities that we are that in turn makes us look at life with a particular perspective, have our own set ideologies, rules of dos and don’ts, concepts and ideas of how things around the world should be, issues and agendas, grudges and prejudices. The list goes on!!!! And if at the end we just have one life and it all ends after that-our drama, and there is nothing more to it then it really does mean that God is doing nothing but playing dice!!! There is then no hope for a child born as a beggar on the streets of Calcutta-a victim of being conceptualised in a woman’s womb who is a beggar, and who will teach him 100 best ways to beg.  

God played dice and on the world stage he is a beggar playing God’s Lila. It can’t be. This goes against all the ideologies of the word ‘hope’ and ‘choice’. There has to be another explanation, some hope of redemption, another possibility-an escape from ‘no choice’ to choice and abundance.

 The possible word of rescue is’ karma’. We are the product of the karma of our souls.  The temperament, aptitudes and attitudes that you were born with serve the learning of your soul.  Where you are born, parents you choose, genes that you select are all a part of your previous karmas. You choose- to clear out your obligations, your debts- emotional and others or your credit. Are you paying out to someone or getting paid decides where you are born, who you are born to, what gene pool you will choose your parents from. You also choose the negative aspects of the personality that you will be born into by of course choosing a parent with a similar gene pool. And if you  after being born with all the flaws make choices that make you do things that cater to the highest thoughts you break free from the bondages of a lower birth ( not necessarily  poor but a birth with more sufferings) that then get you out of that karmic cycle and you make a transition to the higher, more spiritual birth. 

The pathways to healthy or unhealthy body are already set out when the foetus in just a couple of weeks old. A not so recent article and genetic experiment  suggests that malnourished mother’s foetus are more likely to be at a greater risk of diabetes, heart attack, obesity-causes of sufferings. You are the one who according to your karmas selects this womb to go through your karmic obligations.    This is just a simple physical aspect that is way easy to understand. There are emotional aspects too that are the typical characteristic – positives and negatives. We choose these too according to our karmic obligations.  Egos, anger, jealousy- that create intentions, which when combined with energy create experiences that further cause reactions and more or less karmic obligations depending on what you choose to do. What this means is that a beggar – with choices that are hard but reflect higher thoughts can improve his karmic obligations and accomplish a happier rebirth or no birth - his choice.

So there is hope .There is rebirth. There is karmic cycle.   God does not play dice. There are no errors in the Game.   You made the choice to be who you are, chose your family and friends who have made a difference to your life, each one bringing to you an experience that has a learning and it all depends on you – figure out the learning in that experience or treat it as  another random rambling of mind. Your choice.

There is Only One Truth-Paramarthika Satya

When we say that we must speak truth and nothing but truth- what exactly is this ‘truth’ needs to be understood. Most of us will selectively ignore such thoughts as the ones which say that most truths are relative with no need in their minds to introspect further.

 Reason? 

Too much has been invested in this life time, and to consider all that exists that makes us who we are  with the people we love as relative truth is something that we do not want to speculate. We would say to our own self to live well and that is it. But we do not live well, we are merely in our comfort zone and that is good enough for us. But when one aspect of that comfort is snatched away from us then we know not what needs to be done, and it is then that we start searching for truth and it is then that we most of us actually do not pursue truth but become God fearing and start doing rituals to get back to our comfort zone or to make peace within ourselves when the change is irreversible. But those who cater to knowledge and then through that knowledge a mode of bhakti towards absolute truth win. Not blind faith kind of bhakti but a bhakti with the faith the foundation of that which is knowledge or Jyan. 
Krishna in Gita speaks about three types of yogas a) Karma Yoga b) Jyana Yoga and c) Bhakti Yoga.When one understands all aspects of yogas and then one assimilates the three strands into one’s personality then a transformation happens .

The Jyan( truth) about truth is that there are three types of truth.

a) Absolute truth - Paramarthika satya b) Relative truth- Pratibhasika satya c) Assumed truth -Vyabaharika satya

Absolute truth is only one- That there is a changeless factor that remains the same in all situations and circumstances. The witness! That witness in mute. It knows everything and it is must ( no it is not the conscious voice) That witness was the witness of your young age, was witness to your growth, is a witness to when you sleep so deeply that you do not even dream and yet when you wake up you KNOW that you had a good sleep.

Relative Truth- is the world of plurality perceived in the waking state, though it exists only within the mind, it is experienced as substantial objects outside the experiencer.  It is not a good day, or it is a great day, or I am happy or sad or my son or my daughter or my mother or my father are all reflected truths of illusion.“Jagat Swapna Tulya”

That does not mean at all that the world not be enjoyed. Infact it should be enjoyed even more as it is  all relative…

And then the Assumed truth- when we consider sky as blue then we assumes that it is blue-where as it is blue due to the fact that blue part of light is scattered the least and so it is blue, or the assumed truth that we see rainbow because it exists- well a rainbow does not exist for animals .

One must remember that opposite word for the word 'Truth', is 'un-truth' and not 'Mithya'. So when Shankaracharya declares that the perceived world is Mithya, one should not take it for granted that the world does not exist. It has got a relative reality.

This world is very real- however never get too stuck into it as it is all relatively real. Enjoy all ups and all downs- through transcendence.

Growth in Paradoxical Situation

Times had changed. From rags to riches!

 No longer did he need to worry about anything that was material. That ticket of lottery that he had bought and won had changed his life completely. He himself did not believe the change of fate. Best of everything! And more!  Beautiful home, most fashionable clothes, cars, and now many friends at his disposable eager to please him, meet him and do favors . The years went past and slowly he forgot what it was in the days when he was poor. And what it was when he was hungry. Now fat, with few businesses, wife and children he had difficulty sleeping.

The paradox of the situation was that when he had nothing he slept like a log. His period of struggle, when for every meal he had to earn or there was no food made him nostalgic now.  At that time small moments of time became movement of space and divided unto itself, an awareness of hunger and being very alive due to that hunger.

Living is a journey. The path of not having makes one become a possible potential and more alive. A new goal and next goal.. But when one has everything the complacency sets in. Learning disappears and the monotonous sets in.  Somehow in that utter tension he was relaxed. And now when he could relax he could not sleep.

Sometimes at the stage of maximum tension one comes to the verge of a jumping point; that is why you cannot continue. If you continue further, you may just burst and die. The optimum point has been reached, now the life energy will relax by itself.

Life brings with it paradoxes indeed. A lover feeling the pain of separation feels attached to the love through the pain that one who forgets the love and moves on. The potential growth in the paradoxical situation is mostly experienced by those who have touched the extreme of that emotion

Be the Player -Be in the Field to Manifest- Quantum Physics

Imagine standing in a soccer field. Imagine many players playing in it. There is only one soccer ball that needs to be kicked into the goal to win. In that field- one has to make sure that one plays otherwise one will be knocked out either by the ball or by the players who would feel hampered by a non- player. And no one would even notice.

The question is how should one play the game? Of course one would want to be the best player, or at least endeavor to be the best player.  The one who can kick the ball into the goal again and again and make his country win-Bend it like Beckham they say.  Likewise the best would be different with different people- teachers, lawyers, corporate people would be best if they can achieve what they need to. For a spiritualist it is achieving that level of transcendence that ordinary people cannot – that would be his fields and only then he would be the best player. This then means to be a player and the possibility of endeavoring to be the best player- one needs to have results.

Quantum Physics would call this word as manifestation of many possibilities into one that makes that person the player of his field. So to be a player in any field- one must have the ability to manifest- . How does one manifest? That is the craziest question. How does one become what one wants to be. We all want to be something.

Quantum Physics says that it depends on how we observe it. And that in itself is confusing. What does observing mean? How so ever “yourself” perceives it. Not at the conscious level- but the inner layers of your awareness- the way it perceives it is how it is. Imagine a marble dropped on the floor. Imagine that you are not looking at it. Then if one is able to ignore the Doppler’s effect- and if someone asks where you think the marble is- with closed eyes we have a possibility – of the marble being in many places. The possibilities of potential places that the marble can be in are many. When now we look we have manifested it one place. That is manifestation. All possibilities collapse into one state of that ball's positon. Can we influence and manifest things that we dream of? Can we become something that we cannot even imagine to be?

Quantum Physics says yes of course – one can manifest anything one wishes’ to.  How? By the desire and intention that is strong enough to be that. It has to be the desire that is like a fire on your heart in your mind, it is something that you think of all the time, and it is singularly you involved in the entire desire.

How does one do that?

#By travelling back a fraction of second before an event and auto suggesting to yourself- through your will. One could go and read a very controversial experiment by Benjamin libet whose experiment inspired It has also inspired further study of the neuroscience of free will(Wikipedia).The brain was making decisions even before the trigger of pain about the pain. The brain was already making a decision even before the question was complete as if it knew. 

# By acting on it consciously: That is the most difficult aspect. What does it feel like when one acts at something consciously? That is a million dollar question. Quantum Physics says that the observer must become the part of the experiment- and not observe it from outside.

And how does one do that? Physics does not know that yet? What it does know is that there must be a way. The reason is this:  somehow we have discovered huge latent energy in vacuum. It is so huge that is is larger than all the galaxies of the universe- NASA wants to know how to tap into this energy! Somehow once we know how to tap into the energy of vacuum we would have the answers on how to manifest.

To manifest – with an intention so strong that it gets manifested is the key!

But for that one has to be in the field and one must be ready to play the best he can all the time and always.
