Everything that you experience happens within you and only you

If I told you that nothing happens outside you would you believe it?

For example if you see someone- a person -- where do you see? Inside your eyes- that becomes a picture inside your brain. If you touch  someone - you only feel what your nerves say about that touch and how your mind perceives it -is it not so?
Can you hear all activities happening inside your body? So much activity? The blood flow - can you feel it? No. Because all senses are outward that is why. We may feel an ant crawling on our skin but not the pounding of the blood, the exchange of ions in the neurons, the movement of enzymes.

In the very nature of things all sense  organs  are outward bound but all experiences are happening within. Who can refute this ever? Have you ever experienced anything outside of you?  So everything that you experience happens within you and only you.

All  perceptions, all judgement, all theories, all desires are inner experiences of outer things. All matter and all non matter that On can feel and see happens inside you. Then what is the outer world other than your experience?

Go in to find how mysterious it all is - go deep within to know yourself.
You are all the Universe that you have created around you. There is nothing beyond you.

Who Loves? Who suffers? Who is insecure?

A woman got extremely jealous of her husband's praise of another woman's beauty. The jealousy came out as a force so strong  the anger beyond her grasp and she lashed out at him for having a roving eye. The same evening her husband watching a TV programme of a young woman who had become a sage of a sort was singing praises of how amazing this woman is with her depth of spirituality, how learned and how well read. The wife had absolutely had no problem. Infact she nodded her head in agreement as she too enjoyed this nun/sage's TV programme.

Is it not a surprise that the nature of being possessive stops at the body, emotional and thought level? Likewise the suffering too stops at body level? So who loves and who suffers and who is insecure?

Let us take Love : A spiritual love for another's way of being is not looked up as jealousy
" I love you spiritually" is not looked up with raised eyebrows- in fact welcomed.
"I love you at body level" brings lust and emotions come out in a  different paradigm all together. The spirit knows love beyond attachment as self in me is self in all.

Let us take Anger : Anger a negative emotional response - a body mind phenomenon . Anger for another stems out of attachment and memory and ego. By its very nature anger is a low frequency emotion. The body is insecure, the emotional mind is insecure and fear is the culprit of all aspects of all kinds of misery. From the realms of spirit  where is anger? what is anger? Ask your spirit and it would be silent.

Who is insecure?
From the realms of spirit there is no suffering as the spirit has no attachment, nor any desires, either any need for control not any need for freedom. It is forever free. It does not operate from the center of ego and  it does not care for another's ego gratification. For the spirit there is nothing to hog for, nothing to fight for, there is no war neither peace, there is no good nor bad, the spirit has been a witness from the time the mind brought about the existence of space and time.

Who suffers?
The body, and the mind  for the sake of control and for fear of unknown.

Who is unaffected?
The Spirit.

My "face" before I was born as this body and mind was not bonded by any attachments of body mind and time

Who was I
Before I was this  body?
Who was I related to
Before I was this mind?

I AM
I am the origin of all,
And from Me everything evolve
I am the Self abiding in
The heart of all beings; I am
The beginning, the middle, and
Also the end of all beings
There is nothing that I am NOT

So
Be centered, be with the spirit, constantly inquire about the self - the self that is YOU! A scientific inquiry of what I am not will lead you to WHAT YOU ARE. That WHO you ARE never suffers. The impermanent suffers

Grow old Gracefully- NO! I shall grow old to become Judi Dench :))

Judi Dench, Devanand, Sean Connery. Elizabeth Taylor. Jack Nichloson, Jane Fonda, Rekha

( my favorites)

Many a times I have heard and read comments of people stating that such and such person does not know how to grow old gracefully.

What exactly does getting old mean from a science point of view ?

Body changes its physiological ability to look younger and taut- accepted. Researchers do not agree to the causes of aging. Some claim our genes are programmed to deteriorate, wither and die, while others believe accumulated damage is the root of our senescence. Muddying the waters further, many believe that a combination of several factors contributes to aging.

What exactly does getting old mean to society in general?

The conditioned society has a label for everything and seems to fit everything in slot. Incredibly narrow way of looking at things.  A  pattern of how old people are expected to be- slower, not keen to compete, non sexual, vegetable, uninterested in outer physical appearance and even if there is an interest - one must dress like an old person with mellow colors, the mind must be docile, and one must not fuss too much- "you are old" so "you have no right to look or do things that young do". I was very surprised to read that one of the greatest discrimination in the world is against old people. Yes- not gender, not color, not race but oldness.

He is too old to work - even if he may work better than younger people.
He dresses in such bright colors.
She does not behave her age.
Why would an old person listen to rock?
Are you not ashamed to want to watch this - you are too old?
Please look after your grandchildren and stop partying, you are old.
Why do you need to meet friends?
This should be enough for you?
"What do you expect at your age?" "You're not getting any younger!"

The  attitude of the society towards age depicts older adults to be infirm, sedentary and generally incapable of leading an active and exciting lifestyle.

What exactly does getting old mean to a person who may be getting wrinkled or graying hair changes in body?

That person may  really not feel old at all - with any progressive outer change he/she may be a very young person in heart and mind. If everything is about body mind and heart alignment then it may seem right to think that if body shows sign of aging then the mind and heart too must behave differently. Why not that if everything is about alignment of body mind and heart then let not the body lead- let the heart lead...the mind and the body will follow. When an outer older person is young at heart then think this way that life and its challenges did not destroy him- he/she is a person to be looked up to as a role model.

So:
Let no one tell how to age, let not anyone decide for you what you must fit into to grow old gracefully whatever this phrase means. You wear what you want to wear, do what you want to do, talk, laugh and go crazy. Live your life king size. It is your life.

The mind must stay young, the heart must beat at all love songs, the smile must be spontaneous and the body must want to dance- do not get old in mind and heart and rest will follow. Have  your giggly secrets and joy and fun and stay in the mystery - in not too much control and in not fitting in.

Don't fit in!
