The Earthquake in Nepal- people trapped; death and destruction. I wake up to a beautiful weather in Auckland. A cup of tea then another cup of coffee, and music. Surfing you tube I entertain myself to music and dance. I have acknowledged the pain of people in Nepal and yet I am unaffected directly by the havoc brought by nature.
How? How am I so unaffected? And is it right? What should I do? Post gory pictures of people trapped under rubble on facebook? Post status of how sad I am about Nepal? or Examine my own thoughts and learn?
What is my learning from this death and destruction in another part of the world?
My learning
1) That change is the only changeless entity. That sukha will turn to dukha and dukha to sukha and in this cycle of change nothing stays the same. When we enjoy the space and good times, bad times will be there too, and we must always know how to be in times that are bad. The ignorance of thinking that all that we have is permanent makes us suffer. Nothing is permanent- merely knowing and appreciating will not work- it is important to introspect more and again and again.
2) Endless discussions will not work- neither they will give an solace. Witness your mind at play, Witness duality- witness it and see how it gets into similar default thinking of discussions and condolences and then carries on with it activities
3) The law of karma - the eternal Law will always be at work. Learn to evolve, and be your own saviour. All incidents are predestined. If you ask how to change destiny then the answer lies in thinking differently- thinking beyond and changing your tuner circuit to change your external world situations. It is because the PRESENT is only a reaction of the time PAST.
4) The absolute truth is only one. Focus on self and negate the non self.
To endless sufferings of human beings - have we learnt- NO, is there a way out?
Yes- Find yourself
And now back to my music.
Love to all
