Nasadiya Sukta

I read this quote by Rupert Sheldrake and went through a whirl wind of thoughts about how true it was.
The quote: Modern science is based on the principle: ‘Give us one free miracle, and we’ll explain the rest.’ The one free miracle is the appearance of all the mass and energy in the universe and all the laws that govern it in a single instant from nothing – Rupert Sheldrake

Whenever scientists are asked questions about how did matter and energy come in place, they shrug their shoulder and say that they do not know yet. But then any attempts to further ask them to explore something beyond this time and space is met with a look of “ I do not want to know neither agree with your wishy washy philosophy”. A glazed look and a disinterest to even try to wonder about anything that is not deterministic. And yet the world of Science has been baffled by Quantum Physics and  all that it points at.  According to Physics It is said that this Universe came into existence 14 billion years - a cosmic explosion releasing an immense amount of heat and pressure. Before the birth of Universe- when everything was a singular and of infinite density then quantum laws that explain the behaviour of subatomic particles have been applied to explain the behaviour of Universe and here scientists look at string theory, quantum foam or Universe being in a bubble etc..

I think that Vedanta has all the answers...as Vedanta says that time, space are all inherent in the world of duality. This world of duality is the world of cause and effect. It is the mind in motion that creates a whirlpool of thoughts creating the Universe we live in. Vedanta makes it really easy when it says that this Universe is our mode of thinking. It is causeless creation. Of course it is governed by its laws of being cyclic. You are that Universe- and in saying that it makes it clear all aspects of Observer and observed, relativity, quantum factors and puts all responsibility of hologramical Universe squarely on you.

Somehow my mind connected me to this hymn from Rig Veda

From Wikipedia
The Nasadiya Sukta (after the incipit ná ásat "not the non-existent"), also known as the Hymn of Creation, is the 129th hymn of the 10th Mandala of the Rigveda (10:129). It is concerned with cosmology and the origin of the universe.[4]

Then even nothingness was not, nor existence,
There was no air then, nor the heavens beyond it.
What covered it? Where was it? In whose keeping?
Was there then cosmic water, in depths unfathomed?

Then there was neither death nor immortality
nor was there then the torch of night and day.
The One breathed windlessly and self-sustaining.
There was that One then, and there was no other.

At first there was only darkness wrapped in darkness.
All this was only unillumined water.
That One which came to be, enclosed in nothing,
arose at last, born of the power of heat.

In the beginning desire descended on it -
that was the primal seed, born of the mind.
The sages who have searched their hearts with wisdom
know that which is kin to that which is not.

And they have stretched their cord across the void,
and know what was above, and what below.
Seminal powers made fertile mighty forces.
Below was strength, and over it was impulse.

But, after all, who knows, and who can say
Whence it all came, and how creation happened?
the gods themselves are later than creation,
so who knows truly whence it has arisen?

Whence all creation had its origin,
he, whether he fashioned it or whether he did not,
he, who surveys it all from highest heaven,
he knows - or maybe even he does not know.

What was there before this Mind? Only a singular Brahman!

The Power of your mind

Mind the universal phenomenon rejected by scientists as a metaphor of brain and nothing more, argued by spiritualists as more than grey matter is one of the most complex phenomenon to study.
In English language we use phrases like don’t mind, or Mind that or my mind, etc…suggesting that mind is one of the most common word used to express our state of thinking. All processes in meditation are the ways to make mind singular on one thought or further to go towards a no mind state. ‘Control the mind’ is the mantra because this mind can play havoc with our living, its want to control for power and recognition has created men who have killed and plundered and victimized masses for their need of power and recognition and wealth.  Poems have been written about why this mind is a monkey and its nonstop chatter is the greatest problem for ones who want to control it. Sometimes all this focus to control our mind seems to send an impression that mind is an evil part of humanity

And yet ….

…how many of us truly know about the powers of this mind? May be very few. Most of us are not capable of thinking a concept never thought before- as Einstein or Tesla did or as Rishis of ancient India did.  To be an original thinker would mean that one has the ability to think of an original idea – like for example Mark Zuckerberg did when he imagined a world connected by computers. Even beyond what we can create in the world of 3D space and time by applying ourselves, the powers of mind at mystical level can be measured by the fact that the mind has the ability to go through space time with thoughts that may have a speed that we do not know about. If you have experienced in you  a mind at metaphysical level that can connect through telepathy and transfer thoughts from one person to another or a mind that through its intuitive powers can know what lies ahead then you would how powerful this mind is.  The transfer of thought from one person to other must mean that my mind cannot be isolated from other minds – that there must be a universal mesh though which all minds are connected.  There are dimensions of the space beyond all its physicality that we know not about nor have technology to know and yet our mind through its focus can unfold those secrets for us. Therefore those who appreciate mind and its power and then when able to control can use it more efficiently must be understood.

How to make this mind powerful is the key. There is the peculiarity of mind that when anything interests it, it gets absorbed in the thing of interest and neglects every other thing.  Then imagine a mind that becomes interested it its own self about how it functions and how it acts. That mind that is capable of analyzing its own self can becomes a very powerful mind. But that in itself is the greatest challenge. Scientists can analyze a chair or a cup of tea and heat energy in it or electrical circuits – but to be able to analyze one’s own mind and the power it has and what it can do is not easy, as the mind itself is constantly changing, its different every moment and to study it is no joke. But that is the only way to make your mind focused – when you know it you can control it.

So the question that how does one study a mind that is constantly changing?

Watch it. Not easy, not simple thing to do but when one continuously practices watching one’s mind one realizes how  one’s mind thinks. And that is step 1. Step 2 is to be able to see yourself distinct from the mind. Step 3 is to be able to switch yourself between state of wanting to use mind when in external world and then becoming mindless in meditation- a constant practice definitely increases your power to be able to think beyond your ordinary self.

The ones who can appreciate the power of mind and have had some experience with it would know that   if we knew how to handle our mind and tap is power we would be able to unleash power beyond any measures source of energy.
