Deepika Padukone- You are going the right way!

"The most common reaction is, 'How can you be depressed? You have everything going for you … a plush home, car, movies … What else do you want?'" But depression, Padukone concludes, is "not about what you have or don’t have."

Deepika Padukone- who does not know her, the hottest, sexiest woman of present Bollywood industry.  And yet when she has said that she has been fighting depression then we must sit down to think.  If material wealth, beauty, comforts, fans all over the world who worship- if nothing is enough then what is enough? What are we looking for?

If it is happiness then all those who do not have any of above would say that that is happiness to me. And all those who have some of above would say that if I have more I would be happy if I had more of it.

It is non ending my friends the wants. And yet the ones who have it, the ones who reach there realize that it falls short of that the inner self wants. The ones who have everything and still get depressed are indeed one of the luckiest people who have realized that it has to be beyond. Beyond all that they have and they have more than all others in all terms.

The what does this inner being want? What does the inner self want?
It just wants to be connected to itself beyond the external material things. It wants to find the bliss that it knows exists- yes it knows exists  and is not available via external gratifications. The inner bliss. It wants that inner bliss of pure love and peace without a reason and it wants that to be permanent.

Deepika Padukone is lucky to have got it all and yet un-blinded by it wants to know more of WHO is she?

I wish her all the best.

  1. I am surprised to learn this...a beautiful person having name , fame , celebrity status can be depressed ..Her personality , face , conduct and attitude on screen and off screen shows otherwise..Her face glows...her energy level is high...her smile moves millions of hearts ...She radiates everything that is positive . She is supremely confident
But, what lies inside you can belie all this .. Inner world and outer world are poles apart. Outwardly you may have everything this planet earth can offer you ...but still you may be empty inside..not able to connect with your truer self...inner voice is not coming out and guiding you
But , she is very bold to admit all this

    1. Hi rakesh
yes she is bold to admit. What I meant to say and even on ST that idea was not grasped was that she did not become arrogant and the fame did not go inot her head- on the contrary she became depressed. surely we can put two and two together and know that that must mean that her inner being is tuned enough to know that this is not enough!

I am nto able to put that point across- as in my perspective

    2. I again read your blog in print edition and then realised the essence of your blog .
You wanted to tell that she has narrowed down the distance between outer self and inner self. and bliss is within her reach

  2. 1 One who reaches the pinnacle in life can also be very lonely...not many people are there to give you company there and those who are there can be more rivals than friends
2 At psychological level ., there is always a lurking fear that this may not last long and you would loose all this one day and then develops a sense of insecurity and ultimately gives to depression
3 This all halla gulla of stardom makes you an unreal person and you start believing the superlatives all people tell about you. But inner world , you don't find that qualities ..this results in disconnection and tears you apart . Remember the example of Rajesh Khanna
4 Also see in this justice of god...

But .,there are many people who find balance in all this...having best of both worlds...And I find one such example in you

    1. many people who reach the top become lonely as they now do not fit into any league and are not spiritual enough to be alone. yes the fear and the insecurity - the competition and also the fact that they getting older would not have the kind of place in industry..must have an impact.

what a beautiful ghazal - with the meaning that surpasses all philosophies- kabhi kissi ko ....... I will say that to keep my balance I too have been though great life traumas! Great ones. But...life teaches you how to deal with the traumas. And the best thing that I have learnt is not to carry the bag of sadness with you. Keep it locked. Kabhi kabhi when it comes out - let it come out- watch it and then ask it to go back.
Spirituality has been a great great help. And i have changed a lot - for better.
