Woman officer, Wing Commander Pooja Thakur, led the
ceremonial Guard of Honour for US President Barack Obama at the Rashtrapati
Bhavan today. And in the republic
day parade Women's power or Nari Shakti was the theme of the 66th Republic Day
celebrations and for the first time all-women contingents from the three
services marched down Rajpath.
Yes she wears trousers and yes she marches. Yes she can kill
and yes she can save lives. Yes she can lead and she can salute and she can command
soldiers. Yes she can make policies and she can be ruthless. Yes she can shoot and yes she is ready to be killed in the process. Yes she is a scientist, yes she is an economist, yes she is a spiritualist, yes she is ready to lead the world.
Yes she is also a mother and a nurturer, yes she is an epitome of
love and she is peace. Yes she has the softness of a dove and beauty of a mermaid.
Yes she makes a house a home. Yes she makes barren roads be filled with flowers
and laughter. Yes she forgives and she is wise yes she is most compliant like a river in a flow in love.
Yes to the woman of today.
In male chauvinistic society like India , it is very to hard to get jobs and still harder to work for women. They face discrimination at every steps and also sexual harassment and juniors males also feel jealous . And when they get into the jobs considered to be men domain only , it becomes hardest for them considering working hours ,tough jobs and men's attitude . But, mindset is slowly changing and people are realizing the consequences of unbalanced growth. They have also become appreciative of unique women qualities of head and heart
ReplyDeleteAs woman officer, Wing Commander Pooja Thakur gave salute to the nation on republic day, we salute her
I feel, this century belongs to the women and men will have to take back seat for a while .
Thank you Alka for this timely blog on republic day...which is dedicated to nari shakti
Rakesh
DeleteWhen I was writing this blog I did not want to write about what men have done or not done. Yes to everything that you said.
The mindset is indeed changing slowly but surely:))
People are realizing the consequences of unbalanced growth..yes in cities but and i could be very wrong here in small towns and in villages a woman is still treated pretty roughly.
DeleteSexual harassment is huge and do you know Rakesh ji even in big corporate companies a woman engineer is paid less than a man!
in small towns and in villages a woman is still treated pretty roughly.
Deleteyou are absolutely right. But, I have been to villages in haryana where there is maximum discrimination and sex ratio is worst, I find the winds of change and women are treated better . So, time has come and in next five you will find fast change. That is my intuition and hope also.
